CEJIS Bolivia - Indigenous rights monitoring results in Lomerío and Tapacarí-Cóndor Apacheta

The Indigenous Navigator project is coordinated in Bolivia by the Center for Legal Studies and Social Research (CEJIS). It monitors the implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the results of the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples and the essential aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Indigenous Navigator generates data and documentation related to indigenous peoples to demand the respect and implementation of their rights, which are published on a virtual platform of public access. The Indigenous Navigator is a collaborative initiative developed and managed by a global consortium including the ILO, IWGIA, Tebtebba, AIPP, Forest Peoples Program and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, with the support of the European Union (EU). The Indigenous Navigator project seeks to be interactive in its work and to collect the voices of the communities in each visit.

CEJIS has prepared this magazine, which highlights the results monitoring in Lomerío and Tapacarí-Cóndor Apacheta. The magazine is available in Spanish.

The Indigenous Navigator is an interactive project coordinated in Bolivia by the CEJIS to monitor indigenous rights. The Indigenous Navigator generates its first results and, in an interactive process, receives comments from the communities involved in the first phase.

The first phase of the project identifies the needs of the communities and enables data collection which serves to monitor indigenous rights in Bolivia. It is also being implemented in Colombia and Peru through partner institutions.

The virtual platform makes the results of the data collection and participatory community surveys visible. The information is collected by the communities and shared through periodic meetings. In these meeting spaces, the experiences of the communities are shared and communities throughout the indigenous territories connect and collaborate to build best practices. This magazine gathers the most relevant data of the first stage.
