ILEPA awarded SDG award

At the just concluded National SDGs Kenya Awards 2020 2nd edition, ILEPA emerged the winner in the CSOs category.

ILEPA has shared the following statement:

"We are humbled and grateful for the vote of confidence and recognition of our determined efforts to Leave No One Behind."

The Award goes towards recognition of ILEPA's (and others) efforts of moving the SDGs agenda from Boardroom dialogues to grassroots Community spaces to bring voices from below.

It goes towards efforts of shifting focus from the software (figures and graphs) on SDGs, to the hardware of meaningfully transforming Iives and livelihoods of those historically left behind.

It goes towards efforts to shift the SDGs agenda from lone ranger approaches, to robust collaborative actions, meaningful, mutually respectful and beneficial horizontal and vertical partnerships. Partnership that tap from our strengths and diminish our weaknesses.

Our grassroots Communities, the SDGs Kenya Forum, the Narok County Government, the Council of Governors, the European Union, (EU), International Labour Organizations (ILO), International Working Group on Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA), through the Indigenous Navigator project; Roxa Luxembourg Foundation East Africa, Tebtebba Foundation and MPIDO have in one way or another contributed to this success story

Thanks to everyone who voted for ILEPA. It's a humbling Award and we strive to continually contribute in whatever small way towards not only the realization of the SDGs' aspirations of LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND but actually putting first those who are behind.
