TUTORIALS: How to use the questionnaires
The Indigenous Navigator offers user-friendly questionnaires designed to be complementary.
The national questionnaire assesses the level of recognition and implementation of UNDRIP by States in a particular country. The national questionnaire looks at laws, policies, and programs.
The community questionnaire assesses the implementation of UNDRIP on the ground, mainly looking at the impacts for indigenous communities. The community questionnaire is designed for collective assessments on the ground, for example through community meetings, focus group discussion and participatory research.
Both sets of questionnaires come in a long and a short version. The long versions provide a complete and comprehensive set of questions that will require more time for data collection. Meanwhile, the short ones are based on key questions that can easily and quickly be answered - with little time and resources available. The short version can be customised to cover only the themes of particular interests of the user.
In the question guides, you will find answers to some of the questions that might occur when using the questionnaires. This includes:
- Guidance on how to answer the questions
- Information about what each question seeks to monitor
- Clarification of concepts used
- Links to further sources
